Matthew Scotch's research focuses on genomic and molecular epidemiology to study RNA viruses with a particular interest in influenza A viruses.
Scotch is collaborating with Rolf Halden and Arvind Varsani to analyze community wastewater to isolate strains of influenza viruses.
He serves as the assistant director for the Biodesign Center for Environmental Health Engineering and is an associate professor in the College of Health Solutions.
