Paul Kei Matsuda
Paul Kei Matsuda’s research centers around second language writing, a transdisciplinary field of inquiry that integrates theoretical and methodological insights from both language studies and writing studies.
Paul Kei Matsuda is professor of English in writing, rhetorics and literacies and director of second language writing at ASU. He is a former president of the American Association for Applied Linguistics and founding chair of the Symposium on Second Language Writing. He is also the editor of numerous books and special journal issues and is the series editor of the Parlor Press Series on Second Language Writing. Matsuda has received several awards for his research and publications, including 2012 Outstanding Book Award (Conference on College Composition and Communication), 2006 Richard Ohmann Award for the Outstanding Refereed Article published in College English (National Council of Teachers of English) and 2004 TOEFL Outstanding Young Scholar Award (Educational Testing Service).
