Jose Mendez is an expert in international economics and economic development at the W.P. Carey School of Business. 

His research focuses on international trade, free trade and international economics.

In addition to being a professor, Mendez serves as Assistant Chair in the Department of Economics.

In the past, he was director of the W. P. Carey MBA program in Mexico City and has consulted with the World Bank, Organization of American States, USAID and USIA.
