Barzin Mobasher is a civil engineer who creates and assesses materials used in dynamic systems.

His work focuses on how a machine or structure might fail, then uses his work to determine where a material could be improved. He utilizes constitutive modeling to manipulate a material's characteristics, including durability, strength and ability to handle stress.

Mobasher is a professor of civil and environmental engineering faculty in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment.

He is the 2021 recipient of the American Concrete Institute’s Charles S. Whitney Medal for noteworthy engineering development in concrete design or construction.
