Statement on employee questioned and released

According to the Department of Homeland Security, an anonymous complaint had been filed with the Secret Service that an ASU employee had made a threat against the President of the United States.

As part of an effort to understand the facts associated with that complaint, an ASU police officer participated in a meeting with a DHS investigator and the ASU employee at an off-campus location he suggested.

After the meeting, the U.S. Secret Service and Department of Homeland Security detained the employee for several hours.  ASU had no role in detaining the employee, who was later released.
