Record-setting 12,000 ASU graduates celebrate this month

Students powering jobs across Arizona and the country

More than 12,000 students will join the ranks of Arizona State University alumni during this year’s fall commencement ceremonies on December 15. This 9% increase from last autumn’s numbers reflects the steady growth of ASU’s in-person and online programs and the university’s role in serving the people of Arizona and beyond as they pursue their individual goals.

As part of
ranking #2 in employability in the United States, the university bridges higher education with growing industries locally and internationally. Graduates are entering high-demand careers across technology, health care and sustainability and they create real-world impact for others as well as for themselves.

This fall’s changemakers include graduates like
Erik Challenger Sr., who earned his master’s in emergency management and homeland security from Watts College and learned how to shape policies for emergency services that could save lives. Jessica Lopez, a Barrett Honors ASU Online graduate, chose ASU to continue her advocacy in disability resources and accessibility in travel. Mudit Lal, who came to ASU from Lucknow, India, found community on the Polytechnic campus as a Fulton student while creating his own design company.

The graduating class of 12,305 includes 5,418 on-campus students and 6,887 ASU Online students. Enrollment grew 11% for ASU Online between 2024-25 and 2025-26. The fall class also includes 1,596 international graduates, which is more than 15% higher than last fall.*

The top three schools for largest total graduating classes are: The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with 2,570 graduates; the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering with 2,317; and W. P. Carey School of Business with 1,642. All three colleges are celebrating 9% more graduates in one year.
