Valerie Mueller is an expert on the drivers and consequences of internal migration in developing countries.
Mueller’s research measures rural household vulnerability to climate variability, focusing on migration, nutrition, and health markers in Africa and Asia. Her work also consists of trials to identify mechanisms to improve the delivery of rural services (legal justice for women, agricultural extension, allocation of irrigation water) in East African countries. Her research also explores the likelihood of youth employment in Africa.
