As the executive director of the Global Security Initiative, Nadya Bliss oversees efforts to address the complex, interdependent security challenges of today and beyond.

Bliss is an experienced leader of science and technology organizations with over two decades in the defense, security and higher education sectors. Bliss has significant experience identifying advanced research capabilities to address mission needs. The Global Security Initiative (GSI) is a panuniversity organization advancing research, education and other programming in support of national and global security. 

Bliss holds a Professor of Practice appointment in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence.

She also currently serves: as the chair of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Information Science and Technology study group; as vice-chair of the Computing Community Consortium; and on the National Academies’ Cyber Resilience Forum and the National Academies’ Climate Security Roundtable.
