Heather Bateman's research focuses on animal conservation with an interest in how human land-use and decisions affects wildlife and their habitats.
As Earth’s ecosystems move into a future of growing human influence, restoring the integrity of these ecosystems will become central to the conservation of biodiversity. Bateman leads the applied wildlife lab that explores how animals respond to habitat alteration, urbanization, stream management, and other human decisions that can influence communities with a particular interest in reptiles, amphibians, and birds.
