Elizabeth Wentz is an expert in geography, urban planning, spatial analysis, sustainability and computational spatial analysis.

Wentz is the Director and PI of the Knowledge Exchange for Resilience, an ASU initiative to support Maricopa County, Arizona by sharing knowledge, catalyzing discovery, and exchanging responses to challenges together, in order to build community resilience. Her research focuses on the design, implementation and evaluation of geographic technologies with particular emphasis on how such technologies can be used to understand urban environments.

She is an author of a book called, "How to design and write a dissertation research proposal" and has participated in 15 research projects ranging from geographic information systems to urban remote sensing.

Wentz is the dean and vice provost of the Graduate College and is a professor at the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning.
