Ayoub Daliri researches what happens within the brains of people with speech disfluencies. In his lab, his team examines the acoustic and kinematic features of speech. They also determine the structure and function of neural substrates that are involved in the speech production process.

He also studies the variations of speech disfluencies across age groups through the use of fMRI, DTI, EEG, and ECoG. Daliri's models have been used to estimate key structural functions.
