Amy Maas
Amy Maas is an assistant professor in the School of Ocean Futures. Maas studies the impact of climate change on zooplankton, marine animals that drift with currents in the open ocean.
Maas is seeking to understand the role of zooplankton in food webs and biogeochemical cycling, to identify how changing environmental factors will affect these marine animals, and to use the findings to improve predictive models of how marine ecosystem function.
She works with the Oceanic Flux Program and the Bermuda Atlantic Time Series Study to provide greater context to physiological studies of various zooplankton. Her research involves physiology, ecology and biological oceanography.
