Daniel Sarewitz

Daniel Sarewitz explores how science and technology are channeled into the creation of law and policy. His work focuses on the nature of uncertainty amid discovery, determining potential outcomes. He studies the nature of decision making by using human values to determine possible outcomes. Sarewitz combines these factors to improve collaboration and maximize education.

He is the center director for the Consortium for Science, Policy, and Outcomes as well as the Center for the Study of Religion and Conflict. He is a professor for the School for the Future of Innovation in Society and affiliated faculty for the Lincoln Center Applied Ethics.

Sarewitz has worked on Capitol Hill as a Congressional Science Fellow to committees within the House of Representatives. He is an editor for Issues in Science Technology magazine and a columnist for Nature.
