Cheryl Boone Issacs

Cheryl Boone Isaacs is a well-respected expert in the film industry.

Boone Isaacs has spent decades on the front lines of the film industry, has worked on more than 300 movies, and served four terms as president of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.

ASU proudly named her founding director of The Sidney Poitier New American Film School in 2021. She will lead from the ASU California Center, Tempe, and Mesa, home to a 118,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art film and immersive media center.
