Anthony Lamanna's professional expertise includes the retrofit, repair and adaptive reuse of existing structures, in addition to sustainable development planning. His extensive experience addressing construction structural flaws and the effects of ocean/salt water on buildings includes active involvement in the investigations and reports from New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Then a faculty member at Tulane, Lamanna launched an engineering firm to assist in rebuilding the city, including building repair, rehabilitation, retrofitting and adaptive use.
Lamanna is a Sundt Professor of Alternative Delivery Methods and Sustainable Development at the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, as well as Programs Chair with the Del E. Webb School of Construction.
His work in the field of sustainable engineering includes a project to improve water and electrical supplies among tribal peoples in Fiji.
