Amy Ostrom researches services marketing, including the new area of "transformative service" -- the relationship between service and customer well-being.

Ostrom is the Vice Dean of the W. P. Carey School of Business and the Interim Dean/President's Professor/PetSmart Chair in Service Leadership.

Her work has been published in the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Consumer Psychology, and the Journal of Service Research, among other leading publications.
