Jason Scott is an expert in film and media studies, media and performance, theatre, business writing, marketing and feminist and queer theory.

Scott is a professor and associate director at the Sidney Poitier New American Film School and a faculty affiliate in the Center for Film, Media, and Popular Culture.

As part of the leadership team of the Sidney Poitier New American Film School, Scott has helped develop new curriculum models for better retention and students success, and help expand the program's offerings to ensure ASU's missions of inclusion, diversity, and equity. 

Scott is also spearheading the development of the Standard Acknowledgment of Filmmaking Ethics set protocol to train filmmakers to better understand and deal with issues related to abuse of power, harassment, and discrimination in industry workplaces.
