Vijay Vittal is an expert in renewable energy and nonlinear dynamical systems.

He is a regents professor in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, the Ira A. Fulton Chair Professor of 2005 and an ASU Foundation Professor in Electric Power Systems.

Professor Vittal's research focuses on power systems, renewable resources and hybrid simulations.

Additionally, he was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering in 2004, has received the IEEE Power and Energy Society Prabha. S. Kundur Power System Dynamics and Control Award and the Utility Variable-Generation Integration Group Achievement Award in 2018.
