Global Security, Then and Now With Nadya Bliss
Nadya Bliss is an experienced leader of science and technology organizations with over two decades in the defense, security and higher education sectors.
Bliss has significant experience identifying advanced research capabilities to address mission needs. The Advanced Capabilities for National Security Institute convenes world-class, interdisciplinary researchers and experts around mission-critical areas in support of national security.
Bliss holds a Professor of Practice appointment in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence.
She also currently serves on the National Academies’ Forum on Cyber Resilience and a Standing Committee on Transformative Science and Technology for the Department of Defense.
Technology is advancing at a rapid pace, yet security often remains a secondary consideration, despite all the examples we have of unforeseen harms stemming at least partly from new technologies. We need to prioritize security alongside capabilities, and that goal is really at the core of my national service commitments
