Lauren Reed's research focuses on teen dating and sexual abuse prevention. In particular, she has examined the role of social media and mobile phones in "digital dating abuse," and how media can be a context and tool for abuse. She has worked with adolescent and adult survivors of dating and domestic violence and has facilitated community-based, youth-led programs to prevent relationship violence, promote gender equity, and promote positive youth development.
As an assistant professor in the School of Social Work, Reed is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and the power of youth-led social change.
