Home / Kamil Kaloush

Kamil Kaloush is an expert in  pavement materials design, thermal properties, advanced laboratory testing, field performance evaluation, and pavement management systems.

His research focuses on the urban heat island phenomenon which suggests that urbanized environments experience higher temperatures due to infrastructure absorbing the sun's heat.

Kaloush is a professor for the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment, Urban Climate Research Center and the School for the Future of Innovation in Society.

He has received the Greater Phoenix Area E-Week Outstanding Engineering Educator award; Rubber Pavements Association Outstanding Research Award and the IRF Global Awards.
