Ehsan Zaffar is a lawyer, educator and civil rights advocate. Zaffar heads The Difference Engine at ASU, a university-wide center based on combating inequality.
Prior to joining ASU, he taught courses on civil rights and human rights, legal ethics, privacy, and economic justice.
Zaffar previously held the role of Senior Advisor on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties at the Department of Homeland Security in Washington D.C., where he advised the Secretary of Homeland Security and DHS components on the civil rights and civil liberties implications of existing and proposed national security policies, programs, and procedures.
