Cristina Ibarra

Cristina Ibarra is a filmmaker whose work knows no bounds and has earned her multiple prestigious Sundance awards.

Her 20-year film practice crosses the borders of cinematic language and of the Texas-Mexico social and cultural landscape. Ibarra's award-winning docu-thriller "The Infiltrators," showcased her exceptional talent and was even broadcast on the acclaimed PBS series POV.

Ibarra shares her vast knowledge and expertise as an associate professor at The Sidney Poitier New American Film School.

In 2021, she was honored as a MacArthur Fellow. This prestigious accolade speaks volumes about her unique approach to storytelling and her ability to inspire change through her art.
