Kevin Correa is an expert on the challenges and strengths of first-generation college students, as well as issues in diversity in higher education. Correa is director of the First Year Success Center at ASU, which provides support and peer coaching for freshmen, sophomores and transfer students. He also was a founder of Game Changers, an initiative focused on first-generation freshmen, who get one-on-one peer coaching that builds on their strengths as well as help building practical skills.

He teaches a graduate-level course on diversity in higher education and has researched experiences of out-of-state students.
