Bart Hobijn is an applied macroeconomist who worked in the economic research departments of the Federal Reserve Banks of San Francisco and New York for 15 years. He is an expert in macroeconomics, economic development and the measurement of aggregate variables. He teaches courses in macroeconomic principles, the global business environment and analysis of the U.S. economy.
Hobijn is a professor of economics at the W.P. Carey School of Business. Professor Hobijn’s research focuses on labor market dynamics, economic growth and technological progress, and price settings and measurement.
His research has been published in several of the leading academic journals in economics, including the American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, and Journal of Monetary Economics.
